• A consistently applied, universal definition of green largely remains elusive presenting quite a challenge for facility management professionals who are committed to implementing a comprehensive and effective program.
• A comprehensive green cleaning program should encompass not only environmental considerations, but also social and economic considerations as well
• When considering the implementation of a green cleaning program, a facility should understand that for a cleaning program to be green, environmentally preferable, or sustainable, it is necessary to ensure that the facility is in a condition that is conducive to the health of its occupants, which, in turn, demands that it be cleaned effectively
