The Shire of Melton is one of the fastest expanding municipality in Australia, providing an urban-rural lifestyle, just 35 minutes traveling time to the west of Melbourne. Melton Shire Council delivers a wide range of municipal services to over 83,000 residents and actively promotes business investment opportunities in the Shire.

 

 

Requirement

In March 2004, Changing Directions were engaged by the Community Infrastructure Manager to review the Council's existing cleaning contracts and the standard of service, and prepare a new contract in preparation for re-tendering. The purpose was to put in place a process that would more effectively address the needs of all stakeholders and effectively address all levels of risk.

 

Solution

Changing Directions was asked to:

• Prepare EOI & Tender Documents
• Facilitate a fully transparent and accountable tender process
• Prepare a detailed tender evaluation with recommendations
• Handle all communications with contractors
• Facilitate the transition of the contract
• Carry out baseline assessment of the cleaning
• Implement performance monitoring of the contractors' service delivery at sites throughout the Council
  

Outcome

Changing Directions continue to provide independent performance monitoring of the contractors' service delivery.
